Mining the Crown Point Tuesday July 13

Thirteen riders turned out on July 13 th (might have been 12 but 13 sounds better) and it was their lucky day. The weather was cool but not rainy and the climb passed by without too much pain and suffering. We were worried that there might be some blow down after the strong winds of the previous day but the trail was in great shape. Everyone ripped it up and had a grand old time. You could say we struck GOLD in them there hills. Crown Point gold, the finest kind.

After the ride the libations were cold and the camp fire was warm as we told lies and shared stories until dark. I am sure, the miners of the day did this on a regular basis. We are the miners for today, but all we take is memories given to us by gravity and single-track, using the mountain bike as our pick and shovel.
